Richardson Design Center

Facilitating Creativity and Connections

The Nancy Richardson Design Center (RDC) provides a new, state-of-the-art creative space for students and faculty in programs across the CSU campus, including interior architecture and design, apparel and merchandising, landscape architecture, art, engineering, product development, education, psychology, business, entrepreneurship, construction management, and others.

The three-story building houses studios; research and design labs; computer labs; collaboration spaces; fully equipped makers labs (woods, metals, CNC fabrication, and virtual reality); gallery and exhibition spaces; and faculty and administrative offices for the RDC (third floor) and Department of Design and Merchandising (first floor).

The Richardson Design Center is named in honor of Nancy and Curt Richardson, OtterBox and Blue Ocean co-founders, who donated $8.1 million to the $19.2 million facility.
